Reflexology is an alternative medicine method involving the practise of massaging and applying pressure to parts of the feet, the goal of encouraging a beneficial effect on other parts of the body and to improve general health & well being. "Coed y Gwynt has been my sole provider of sports massage for several years. Dianne understands what my body needs, often before I do. Driving forty miles each way after work for my regular massage is well worth the effort: Dianne is so good at identifying and treating problem areas and niggles before they become injuries. When I miss regular massages I'm more vulnerable to those niggles turning into injuries, but even then Dianne is usually able to help, working my muscles sensitively to facilitate a speedier recovery. The beneficial effect of Dianne's sports massage is more valuable than any training session - it is a fundamental part of the underpinning of health and well-being which enables me to sustain preparation and performance for the stresses of events such as The Spine Race (a non-stop 268 mile Pennine Way traverse in the depth of winter). I highly recommend you build regular massages at Coed y Gwynt into your training programme!" Jim Tinnion Coaching Co-ordinator at Mercia Fell Runners and Spine Race Finisher.
"Di with the magic hands! Having gained my first ever marathon place in London this year I knew I would be needing some help to keep my body free from injury and pain. Di came highly recommend. I booked an appointment having pulled a very painful torn muscle which instantly put my training on hold for a week. Di was fantastic, with her magic hands, advice for stretching and rest, just after a week I was back in training and I haven’t looked back since. I will now keep making regular visits to help me relax, avoid injury and keep my body at its best. Di makes you feel very welcome as you are invited into a lovely and cosy, homely environment. I am looking forward to my next visit." Kelly Griffiths
"Dianne has helped me enormously as I suffer from muscle tension which causes migraine. I have had regular massage with Dianne for well over a year now and always found her to be friendly and professional and I would highly recommend her." Sarah Jones"I first went to Coed-y-Gwynt Therapies about 3 years ago with a back complaint, which had been reoccurring for a long time. Dianne took time to talk to me about the type of work I do and how I thought I may have got the injury. I have continued to visit Dianne every month since and have never missed a days work, or had any further back pain issues, which is important to me as I am self-employed and do a lot of heavy manual work. I would recommend Dianne Spencer to anyone with back pain (or any kind of muscle pain) I keep up the monthly massage as it keeps my back healthy and prevention is better than cure. I would say to anyone - consider a monthly massage, don't wait until you get pain, book an appointment at Coed-y-Gwynt Therapies." Stuart Sheppard |

"Going to Coedygwynt really helps both for the preparation and recovery for my big races. The sports massage is ideal for reducing muscle pain after racing and also helps prepare my muscles properly before any big event. Thanks Coedygwynt-keep up the good work!" Andrew Davies Marathon, Fell, Trail Runner
"I first contacted Dianne at Coed y Gwynt Therapies when I suffered an injury to my ankle. After a couple of massage sessions and following the exercises set out for me, and her guidance, I was able to slowly build my strength back in my ankle. I would not hesitate in recommending Dianne for anyone needing her help, as she is always willing to offer advice and support”. J Gilbert - Davies"I have been visiting Dianne Spencer at Coed-y-Gwynt Therapies for about 2 years now. I first went with an achillies tendon niggle which Dianne treated with massage, she also gave me invaluable advice with regard to my running along with some exercises to do at home. After following her advice I soon returned to running and have been returning to Coed-y-Gwynt every month since for sports massage. I have since had two other injuries, one of which the doctor suggested that maybe I should consider giving up running! I instead went to see Dianne who said " Don't you worry we'll keep you running". Again, she gave me some exercises to specifically target my injury, advised me on what to do to maintain my fitness and as promised kept me running! I would highly recommend Dianne to anyone, whether you're into sports or just want a bit of "me" time, you are guaranteed a highly professional treatment, tailored to you. Dianne takes time to talk to you before starting each treatment to ensure you get the best possible results, all done in a very tranquil room." Suzanne Sheppard |
